If you’re like us, you hear the word “trend” and cringe a little. Maybe you bought into a whole new all white kitchen, replaced your fixtures with rose gold ones, or invested in industrial light fixtures and since had a change of mind. For some of us, “trend” means a shallow passing interest that is made to be obsolete in a year or two when it cycles out. But it doesn’t have to be that way. To us, trend analysis is a learning experience. It gives us a tasting selection of the possibilities for our home while not having to commit to living in it. Or even more importantly, spending on it. By combining functionality, personality, and timelessness, we’ve compiled a list of trends that we believe aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.

1. Outdoor Living Spaces: With an increasing desire for outdoor entertainment and relaxation areas, homeowners are investing in creating functional and stylish outdoor living spaces. This may include features such as outdoor kitchens, fire pits, pergolas, and comfortable seating areas. A screen-in porch is the perfect in-between of an indoor and outdoor space; a comfortable outdoor space without worry of insects and bad weather.

2. Colorful metal roofs: This is one of our personal favorites. Roofing provides several benefits, with the main being damage protection, energy savings, and increased property value. A red roof not only stands out, it makes cooling costs in the summer much lower. They also need renovation far less than traditional shingles and are much more resistant to bad weather.

3. Bold Colors and Patterns: While neutral color schemes remain popular, there has been a growing interest in incorporating bold colors and patterns into home decor. This can add personality and visual interest to spaces, whether through accent walls, statement furniture pieces, or decorative accessories.

4. Multifunctional Spaces: With an emphasis on maximizing space and flexibility, homeowners are increasingly seeking out multifunctional design solutions. This might involve incorporating features like built-in storage, convertible furniture, and adaptable room layouts to accommodate various activities and lifestyles.

5. Vintage and Retro-Inspired Design trends: Nostalgic design elements from past decades, such as mid-century modern furniture, vintage appliances, and retro color schemes, continue to inspire contemporary home renovations. Mixing vintage pieces with modern elements can create a unique and eclectic aesthetic.
